New Video: Official Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy How-To

Took me long enough, right? Since it was requested, I decided to film a quick video (okay, maybe it took me over an hour to record) on Pixie Epoxy in use as well as the 'layering' technique I've often used and people have been confused on the process. Hopefully I've helped to clear up some confusion; again, sorry it took so long!

New Video: Illamasqua Color Collision Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Last night I was poking around on Sephora due to new collections being released that I wanted to check out and I decided to check Illamasqua for the fun of it. Well, I don't know if the picture I saw was new in any way or if it was just an image they throw up there now and then for variety but I loved it so much I wanted to do a look inspired by it. It feels a little odd to do an inspired look yet I didn't use a single Illamasqua product but I'm sure its the thought that counts.

Like I said, this is inspired by and mainly its the way the crease was cut that inspired me; that its rounded. Mine looks a little smudgier because I wanted to smoke out the cut-crease more to reshape and have blend into the rest of my eyeshadow. I currently have my eye on several other Illamasqua looks that I want to either reproduce or use an inspiration so hopefully I'll work on some of those soon!

Review: Illamasqua's Rich Liquid Foundation

I've had my eye on Illamasqua for a while now, at least until it started gaining attention on YouTube and among popular bloggers. The brand itself very much defines me and my style; dark, dramatic and a taste for the theatrical. I'll be completely honest, beauty-related makeup can bores me. You don't have to look very far for avant-garde makeup creations but many still cling to the beauty aspect; its rare to see something unique and obscure yet in its own unusual way is beautiful even if you do not fully understand it.

Illamasqua features many products I've heard a lot of positive reviews about. Dramatic makeup isn't for the faint-hearted and this can sometimes turn people off for obvious reasons. While this is high-quality makeup, I've seen and experienced that Illamasqua performs like stage makeup; fully functional but don't expect everything to be adequate for work or a PTA meeting at your child's school.

Synopsis - Illamasqua's Rich Liquid Foundation isn't for everyone due to lack of shades but what you're looking at is a full-coverage product that can easily match a lot of fair-toned people. Since this is a thicker foundation than what you can expect, its important to note that a little can go a long way. I found that brush application has to be very particular to get an even result without caking it on. While I would love to give this an S (highest rank) or an A simply because this shade matches me so well, I found it applied a little on dry side. I still love this and undoubtedly others will but the few cons mentioned makes this easy to skip, however this foundation is certainly worth a try.

New Video: Valentine's Day Inspired Tutorial

For the record, I really hate Valentine's Day unless there's chocolate involved, then its fantastic. So what can I say about this look other than its inspired by Valentine's Day? Pink, pink, nude. Pictures and details after the jump! Please comment, rate and subscribe to my channel if you are interested!

FOTD: It's uh...It's a Look

Long time, no FOTD. Basically I was having a 'manly' period where I just didn't want to shave so I just stuck with doing EOTD's, which in turn bored me so here I am!

This story is much like many before it - I got some new goodies and wanted to give them a test run. I really hadn't the simplest clue as to what I was going to do, I was just going with whatever worked. After a few trial and errors, I decided I would stick to Fyrinnae's Sleepy Hollow (beautiful blue with flashes of green and gold) and base a look around it. Well, that's kind of what happened. I also incorporated some of the tokidoki Robbery palette products as well.

Now the lips are something different; I picked up a trick from the lovely Nymphette which is lining your lips with a black or dark liner and then filling in the inner portion of the lip with MAC's Violetta. While I am no longer favor or support MAC for personal reasons, I'm not above using their lipsticks since I have quite a few.

New Video: Lady GaGa 'BORN THIS WAY' Makeup Tutorial

As one of her millions of Monsters, it brought me a lot of joy to do this video. From all the details we've heard about 'Born This Way', I truly thought that every last visual would be bright and vivid like all the energy pulsating around the hype. However in usual GaGa fashion, she proved yet again how unpredictable she really is. Instead of sunshine and unicorns on her single artwork there was a dark and moody GaGa donned with wild, wavy hair and facial features reminiscent of Alexander McQueen's work. The single starts playing on radio this Friday - its also the one year anniversary of McQueen's death.

Basically for this look I wanted to recreate the single artwork (found here). It wasn't anything too outrageous but on impulse I decided to do it. If you're interested please comment, rate and subscribe - I'd really appreciate it!

I won't be writing out the list of products I used right now, I'm too tired to keep sitting here. Maybe I'll update it tomorrow and put a notice out on Twitter but its basically predictable products.

Thanks for reading! Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation for my next review, maybe?

Review: Hello Kitty's Apple Balm

Hello Kitty is a subject I'm rather on the fence about. I think she's adorable but at the same time, she's very over-saturated. While there's certainly a wide range of styles she is associated with either issued by Sanrio or fan-made material, it conflicts with my anti-conformist stance on life sometimes. It basically comes down to either treating Hello Kitty as a lifestyle choice (and I'm not exaggerating at the slightest) or just a mild to small indulgence and that's where I stand.

As most are aware, a new Hello Kitty line was introduced at Sephora very recently and I noticed mixed reactions from many people. On one hand, many people noted on how adorable the products are and praised it for its wider range compared to the MAC Hello Kitty collection. However, on the other hand people expressed dislike or an impassive stance due to the range looking "plain" and/or "nothing new". The prices also don't tickle my fancy much. So, to make this story shorter, I decided to pick up one of the most inexpensive products from the line; the Apple Balm.

Synopsis: Its cute, its a shade anyone can make work, it smells like delicious apples and best of all; its cheap. A small potential issue with the packaging is easy to overlook being that this isn't a complicated product at the slightest. The product is easy to apply and is not only hydrating but smells great even after extensive wear. Since this is more on the glossier side, you probably wouldn't see me out on the town wearing this...during daylight hours, but its still something nice and small to get out of whim or to introduce yourself to the brand.

EOTD: Bloo

Title of this post courtesy of The Knight.

January is finally over! My excitement would be truly electric if it wasn't for the fact that its just as dark and gloomy out as it was yesterday, the last day of the month. Of course I'm not the only one who gets the post-holiday blues but seriously, when you live in a place like New York that gets as much snow as we do, its all you hear about all year long.

Last night I knew I had to do makeup, I was itching to do something but couldn't come up with anything. Then I remembered I had several blue shadows from a few Sleek palettes that I wanted to give a whirl - so that's what I did. I have to say though, one thing I seriously dislike about these palette is that not a single shadow is labeled (except for a few palettes here and there) so this makes writing about them a pain. Using them in a video is easy, all you have to do is hold the palette up to the camera and point to the shadow in question. I just think its a bit dull to not give them any kind of name and/or numbering system.
